Based upon his experience in sculping, he brought together techniques and expressiveness in his paintings. With time his paintings became the symbol of classic simplicity. Against an expanded coloured backdrop, the figure of Man was foregrounded as an idea that attempts to explain the former´s intrinsic nature in the Universe. Ariadne´s thread results in the graphic intention to explore the labyrinth of life. Juxtaposing historical phases, Sgreccia carefully creates a bare, pure picture through his ethic and his untiring search for a mystic that expresses divine existence when the same embellishes human existence. In his art there is no exaultation, but inspiration that reaches profound spiritual meanings, close to revelation. His symbolical Figures cast a light of perception on the deep mystery of being. He receives suggestions from the Mind´s pure and atemporal reality, whose Beauty he now discovers and his works seek to portray. In his canvases the flash of insight is bestowed.
